Australia's Workforce Futures - Submissions Invited

Date published : 26  October  2009

Skills Australia has released a paper outlining a new approach to workforce development in Australia. The detailed discussion paper, Workforce Futures, recommends a broader more multifaceted response from federal, state and territory governments, business and industry to future workforce challenges which goes beyond planning for future skills shortages.

Skills Australia has also hosted a range of consultation sessions around the country and they are seeking submissions from all interested parties by the 6th of November. This is a potentially important initiative for employment services and we should express our perspectives to ensure our role in skilling Australians and supporting them into work is reflected.
