Media Release: Record number of jobs created as economy strengthens

A record number of 300,000
full-time jobs have been created in 2010 - the largest increase in
full-time employment ever recorded in a calendar year, Minister for
Jobs, Senator Chris Evans, said today. Welcoming today's Australian
Bureau of Statistics labour force figures, Senator Evans said a
record number of Australians were now in full-time work. "This is
an outstanding result. We have seen the creation of 54,600 jobs in
November and for the first time, more than 8 million Australians
are in full-time work," he said. "Even with a month to go, we have
already achieved record levels of full-time job creation in
2010.
