Successful Jobs Fund - Round 2 projects announced

$39m for 53 Jobs Fund projects announced

$39m in funding has been announced for 53 projects across Australia under the Local Jobs stream and Get Communities Working stream of the Jobs Fund. The Jobs Fund Round 2 projects build on the Round 1 projects announced in September 2009.

Round 2 will create approximately 1620 jobs, around 400 traineeships/apprenticeships and more than 1140 work experience positions. The range of Round 2 projects includes support for social enterprises to provide training and employment opportunities to people from disadvantaged backgrounds; initiatives that will focus on repairing and improving community facilities; and projects with environmental benefits that will also provide for green skills for the future.

Under Round 2 of the Jobs Fund, the Local Jobs stream has a focus on green jobs and training outcomes. The Get Communities Working stream has a focus on effective Intermediate Labour Market models, including social enterprises. Separate guidelines are available for these streams:
