Long-term jobless queue gets longer

LONG-TERM unemployment is getting worse, with the number of
people on welfare payments for more than a year nearly 100,000
higher than when the global financial crisis was at its peak.
The number of long-term Newstart Allowance recipients has risen
every month since November 2008 - when the global financial crisis
was at its worst - with about 345,000 Australians in July getting
Newstart for more than a year.
