Social Health network set to have a beneficial effect on mental health outcomes

One in five Australians will experience a mental illness at some
stage in their lives. The prevalence of mental illness is greatest
among 18-24 year olds, who are twice as likely to have difficulty
talking about or seeking help for their mental health problems.
This age group are also the largest users of social media sites
like Facebook® so the launch of Healthshare ( www.healthshare.com.au),
Australia's first, health centric, social networking site is a
welcome tool in enabling young people to open up about their mental
health.
