Highlights
The Internet Vacancy Index (IVI) decreased by 1.3% in
September 2011 (in trend terms), with falls being recorded in all
eight occupational groups. The IVI has now declined for six
consecutive months. In seasonally adjusted terms, the IVI decreased
by 9.2% over the month with falls across all States and
Territories. The newspaper-based Skilled Vacancy Index (SVI)
declined by 1.6% in October 2011.1 Growth in the Regional IVI
(three month moving average) over the year to September 2011 was
recorded in 21 of the 38 regions. The strongest increases over this
period were recorded in Pilbara & Kimberley WA (up by 59.0%)
and Far North Queensland (46.5%).
