RESULTS
DEEWR's Monthly Leading Indicator of Employment
(Indicator) has risen for the fourth consecutive month in December
2011. However, it is still too early to confirm that a quickening
in employment growth (to a rate above its long-term trend of 1.8
per cent per annum) is in prospect, because the Indicator has risen
for fewer than six consecutive months. In contrast, cyclical
employment has now fallen for the tenth consecutive month.
