Census Jobs

Date published : 9  April  2011

As you may be aware the Census will be conducted in August of this year.  The ABS is seeking to employ some 43,000 people to assist in conducting this year's census.  Job descriptions and application details can be accessed through the ABS website http://www.abs.gov.au/websitedbs/D3310114.nsf/Home/census?opendocument#from-banner=GT

We would also like to bring to your attention a positive initiative that has been constructed by PVS WorkFind.  In collaboration with the ABS and consultation with DEEWR, PVS has constructed a census recruitment portal for Job Services Australia and Disability Employment Services providers to maximise engagement of job seekers into the employment opportunities.  The portal is located at www.jsajobs.com.au and offers a range of information and applications for census jobs can be lodged directly through the portal.

NESA has received feedback from job seekers testing the portal indicating that it offers job seekers and consultants, valuable information and support for lodging a winning application additional to that found on the ABS site.  The portal is available to all providers.  We would also like to clarify, as the census jobs are with a Government Department there are no job placement fees payable to any party.

Outcome fees belong to the provider referring the job seeker from their caseload.  PVS have prepared some supporting documentation which you can download from the list below.
