RecruitmentSuper awarded 5-star rating from Canstar Cannex for the second consecutive year

19 September 2011

RecruitmentSuper, for the second consecutive year, has been named as one of only 12 super funds to be awarded a 5-star rating for 'outstanding value' by Canstar Cannex.

Canstar Cannex compared 81 public offer funds across four profiles that reflect typical life stages; from those new to work through to those approaching retirement. They reviewed over 80 product features including investment options, account access, insurance options and premiums, availability of advice, fund performance and investment strategy, and found RecruitmentSuper's SelectSuper product to be one of the best in the market.

Megan Bolton, CEO of RecruitmentSuper, said the Fund was delighted to receive the Canstar Cannex 5-star rating for the second consecutive year.

"We've worked hard to offer our members a superannuation fund that they can feel confident investing their money with, particularly in uncertain financial times," said Ms Bolton.

"RecruitmentSuper also has a Gold Rating from SuperRatings, demonstrating the Fund's value for money, and our Growth option delivered over 11 per cent return for the 2010-2011 financial year. This was ahead of the median growth for industry super funds' balanced options of 9 per cent," she said.

RecruitmentSuper has undertaken several initiatives in recent years to provide better services for members, including establishing an investment framework that maximises growth potential whilst mitigating against short-term fluctuations, and working to improve online services for members and employers. From November, RecruitmentSuper will also be improving its insurance arrangements for eligible members - which will include halving the total and permanent disability (TPD) waiting period, increasing the TPD expiry age; and doubling the amount of interim accident cover.

"In addition to extending and improving our offering to members, we're continually looking at ways to make understanding super simple and easy. Our Member Service Consultants are available to help members understand the investment and insurance options available to them, as well as assist with completing forms, finding lost super and consolidating their other super funds," said Ms Bolton.

"We're very proud of what we've achieved to date, and look forward to new innovations within the Fund that will improve member services even further," she said.

RecruitmentSuper is a division of Professional Associations Super. Professional Associations Super is an industry super fund for professionals operating across a number of key industries. Its superannuation divisions include RecruitmentSuper, Accountants Super and Australian Enterprise Super, as well as a pension division, SMARTpension. With more than 440,000 members nationally and over $1.7 billion of funds under management, Professional Associations Super is one of the largest industry funds (by membership) in Australia.
