Media Release - $25 Million to make the system work better

A $25 million fund to help local people fight joblessness and poverty was launched by the Gillard Labor Government today. Minister for Human Services Senator Kim Carr called on community organisations in the selected regions to help put the Local Solutions Fund to work. "The entrenched disadvantage in our society has meant that lots of people are missing out on the opportunities this country can provide. They are entitled to a fair go; and they are entitled to the government and community services that help make it possible," Senator Carr said.
