Local Solutions Fund - Expressions of Interest

The Local Solutions Fund will provide funding for innovative and
creative solutions to increase social and economic participation in
the ten Local Government Areas. The Fund will provide $25 million
across the ten selected areas from 2012-2015 to support projects
designed by the local community.
Interested parties in the ten selected areas can submit
expressions of interest for projects that:
- reduce poverty and disadvantage through targeted and
community-based approaches to improve opportunities for children,
educational attainment, workforce participation and social
participation
- reduce service gaps and improve service coordination
- support opportunities for different levels of government,
community groups, businesses and individuals to create coordinated
and sustainable responses to related local issues and needs
- reduce risk factors associated with teenage pregnancy and
parenthood, youth unemployment and vulnerable children.
The ten Local Government Areas selected for the additional
support through the Local Solutions Fund are:
- Bankstown, Shellharbour, and Wyong in New South Wales
- Hume and Greater Shepparton in Victoria
- Logan and Rockhampton in Queensland
- Playford in South Australia
- Kwinana in Western Australia
- Burnie in Tasmania.
