Awards for Excellence - Entries Close in 10 Days!

Date published : 20  July  2012

Is there someone special that you would like to see rewarded for their achievements?

Or something extraordinary that you've achieved?

The NESA Awards recognise hard work, compassion and expertise, and celebrate your achievements on a national stage.

The rewards are too good to miss. Every finalist attends the Champions' Reception and Gala Awards Dinner in Sydney, and some category finalists also receive flights and accommodation. In addition, employment consultants nominating an Achiever of the Year finalist will also receive flights, accommodation and a ticket to the dinner so that you can attend in support and join in the fun.

Submissions close on Monday 30 July.

Submission Hints & Tips

Download all the information you'll need at www.nesa.com.au.

The following tips will help make your submission sparkle!

  • Tell your or the nominee's story - don't sacrifice words just to make the submission look pretty.
  • Use facts and examples of real instances to support your claims of success and fantastic results - try not to make generalised statements.
  • Use graphs, charts, tables and other illustrative methods in your Support Material to demonstrate and substantiate your claims and cross-reference these in your submission. This will make it easier for the judges to find your supporting evidence.
  • Provide only the information that has been requested and remain within the maximum page length for each question.
  • Make the judges' job easier - present your supporting material in the same sequence and under the same headings as the submission. Make sure all text is at least 11 point in size.
  • Avoid using too many industry acronyms. If you do use a few, then spell them out in the first instance. (For example, Job Services Australia (JSA).)
  • Treat the award submission as if it were a job application - state each question in the order it appears in the criteria and then answer it.

A final hint - Ask someone else to read your submission to confirm that the criteria have been met. It is often helpful if this person does not have an intimate knowledge of your position or organisation and therefore will not make assumptions based on prior knowledge.

The judges are looking for people and organisations who demonstrate the qualities and values required to support people in making major changes in their lives. Be sure to present the facts, but also include that personal touch that tells the 'story' behind the person or organisation being nominated.
